Can we live comfortably in fresno?

My boyfriend and i will be married in a smidge over a year. We currently live in jacksonville, florida, we will move to gainesville, florida after we get married and plan to live there for a max of 4 years (don't know if we want to buy or rent yet. Then after we ahve settled into a career we were thinking of moving out to fresno. Can i do it? ne tips? ne thing else i may have left out etc.? thanks also i went to salary.com and fresno is slightly less expensive to live there than jacksonville and i would get paid more.
