Requirements to work as a lunch lady in elementary schools? how do i get a job as a lunch lady in ny?

i know there is a food handling certificate but i don't know any where i can get that from...do i need a GED or diploma to be a lunch lady or to get the food handler certification? Where can i get this? what are the requirements to being a lunch lady or food handler in elementary schools? kingsborough college had a free food handling certification cl but it was only for ESL students which i am not so if they can give it for free to them is there any where i can get it for free?
