What's the point of doing the right thing? Returned a lost book, and got slapped with a hefty fine?

ten dollars is a hefty fine? for three months? most library late fees charge like 15 cents a day so you should've been charged .15X90=13.50. count your blessings. also you didn't really have to pay the fee. if you dropped the book in the drop box and never returned again then you could've saved your ten bucks. or you could've called the library and explainded to them that you lost the book and they may have let you slide on the fees if this was a first time offense.
