When you have acid reflux?

will you cough up blood? my husband can't ever seem to afford his meds Nexium so he doesnt get to take them and has not in a while, lately he has been coughing up blood, so I picked him up some Prilosec which he has only been on for 4 or 5 days now but he is still coughing up blood, I know he has acid reflux because he has been to the doctor and had all the test ran to determine what it was... At that time he was not coughing up blood, will acid reflux untreated make you cough up blood?
