What age group is Death Note appropriate for?

I was actually twelve when I started watching Death Note. I think its perfectly appropriate for someone you're age. I would relate it to Full Metal Alchemist; but with a bit more adult humor, a little , and not as much childish humor. If you have anything against any of those, then just don't watch it. I suggest maybe just watching the first episode and finding out if you like it or not. There's not as much blood though, definitely not as much.
