So, a hamster is hiding in my Prius!?

Yeahhh...my brother got this little hamster from petco 2 days ago. Right after we bought him, he escaped from his cardboard box and hid inside the car near the brake pedal. He still hasnt come out for two days and we tried putting safe mouse traps. We even bough this expensive one but he got around it. My mother saw him on the seat but she was too late and he ran back inside the car!! We are worried that he could eat the wires and destroy the car. In a couple days, if he is not out we will have to go to extreme measures. My little brother doesnt want him to die. Any advice??
